I can’t speak for the rest of the country, but if you’re in Ohio, you likely get a couple offers weekly asking to switch electric providers. These normally go straight to the recycle bin, but one of them caught my eye last week and I went a step further to check into it.
In about 5 minutes I cad come across the PUCO website, which gives an overview of all the current supplier options in Ohio. http://www.puco.ohio.gov/puco/index.cfm/apples-to-apples/aep-electric-apples-to-apples-chart/
I came to the site looking to save a buck on my electric bill, but In less than 10 minutes I was switched to a zero emissions, 100% wind energy supplier.
And that rate, $.0719/kWh, is less than the compare rate on my electric bill, so I think I may still be saving a buck.
